FOR the second of the Rhayader Motorcycles Club’s evening events, competitors tackled a series of obstacles in the form of rocks and logs to test their skills over a two-legged format.

In the Pro class Lee Sealey was soon in his stride in the first leg showing his experience of such events and finished 15 seconds up on Dan Mundell with Charlie Evans a few seconds adrift in the third.

The second leg proved eventful with Mundell out in front with Sealey charging hard but a fall in the rocks meant Lee lost time straightening his bike allowing Alex Walton and Charlie Evans through into second and third, Sealey was soon up and running and managed to pass Evans but failed to catch Alex before the flag so it was Mundell the winner with Walton second and Sealey third however Sealey’s first leg win was enough to promote him to second overall behind the triumphant Mundell.

Adam James led the experts home in leg one despite a heavy fall in the logs managing to secure victory with and additional lap from Luke Craig and Richard Tucker, Craig took revenge second time out beating the battered James but Adam had done enough to take the experts win.

In the clubman group “star of the night” Sam Davies had a minute over Tom James in the first leg but Tom pulled out the stops in the second leg to beat Sam by a lap and take the overall honours.

The Sportsman class the riders had the most difficulty with the rocks and logs but they soon got the hang of it, in the first leg Mathew Harris certainly did winning by over four minutes from Harry Vause and these two repeated the performance in the second leg but the much improver Vause was just 12 seconds behind Mathew.

The club now looks forward to the eagerly awaited YOUTH Hare ‘n Hounds that will take place on Saturday, July 8.
