CENTRAL Wales Auto Club based in Knighton held their annual trial for machines of yesteryear, including old British machines, ones with twin shock absorbers and some with air cooling – all part of the KIA National Trials Series.

Nearly 100 competitors travelled from all over the country to the venue near the village of Whitton, with Yorkshire’s Darren Wesley running out the winner in the expert class and Knighton’s own Mark Vaughan, a creditable fourth. On the clubman course, Clifford’s Merv Powell finished 12th.
