After a five-year hiatus, South Powys is set to return to the Wales Netball county championships in the new year, much to the excitement of players and supporters across the region.
Head coaches Rebecca Witcomb and Jo Ricketts, along with their dedicated coaching teams, have announced the 12-strong squads for both the U14 and U16 competitions. The selections follow a highly successful trial day in September, which saw more than 70 talented girls from schools across South Powys turn out to showcase their skills and enthusiasm for the sport.

From this large pool of players, a long squad of 20 for each age group was initially chosen.
Throughout the autumn term, the squads have participated in training sessions and competitive matches, which included a trip to Welshpool where they faced the North Powys county side.
Following this period of preparation, each age group has now been narrowed down to 12 players, who will proudly represent South Powys in the inter-county championships in Cardiff this January.
The girls who will be representing South Powys at U16 level are, in alphabetical order: Anna Hindmarsh, Arabella Brown, Brooke Harley, Delyth Williams, Gracie Jackson, Haf Parry, Isla Jenkins, Izabel Dorise-Turrall, Ruby Skilton Prosser, Ruby Wilden, Tallulah Powell and Zara Goodwin-Edwards.
The girls who will be representing South Powys in the U14 squad are: Amelie Reeves, Angharad Roderick, Aurora Howard-Sadler, Ellie Davies Bowen, Ffion Payne, Freya Ashdown, Hannah Morgan, Lola-Rose Russell, Maddie Witcomb, Meggie Evans, Nancie Brown and Ruth Thompson.
The county team has also been fortunate to secure sponsorship from Powell & Co, which will fund their training kit for the season.
