Brecon Corries are up to fourth in the Ardal League South East after a 2-1 win at Blaenavon Blues.
Corries extended their recent unbeaten league run to seven, with first half goals from brothers Dale and Craig Evans setting them up for victory.
Captain Dale Evans put the Chisels ahead after Paul Keddle headed a Craig Evans free-kick against the bar and it was two on 13 minutes with Craig Evans netting from 25 yards after spotting the keeper off his line.
Blaenavon were handed a lifeline just before half-time when Steve Goodwin was credited with an own goal following a corner. The Blues pushed hard for an equaliser after the break but Corries remained resolute at the back as their excellent run continued.
Corries now have a break over Christmas before beginning the New Year with games against three of the league’s top five in Cwmbran Town, Goytre and Caldicot Town.
