LAST Sunday’s Radnorshire Team Championship final match of the season due to be played at home against Glynrhondda was cancelled by the visitors so Radnorshire were able to improve their season’s tally by claiming the points.
During this week the Radnorshire Indoor Stadium finals have been taking place between Monday and Thursday.
Next week two important meetings take place at the Radnorshire Indoor Bowls Centre. On Tuesday March 29 at 6.45pm the Radnorshire Indoor Bowls Association AGM, takes place, where the main topic under discussion will be the Association taking over the ownership and control of the Indoor Centre from Powys County Council as a Charitable Incorporated Organization, which will be run by a Board of Trustees.
They must act with what is known as a “ duty of care” and also in the interests of the club. All members of the club are urged to attend the most important annual meeting for many years. On the following evening, Wednesday March 30, the Men’s Section AGM takes place at 7pm.
Next Saturday, April 2, the Radnorshire Indoor Bowling Association are hosting a Para Bowls Development Day, in collaboration with the Welsh Bowls Federation and Disability Sport Wales.
The taster sessions and coaching for anyone with a physical or visual impairment who wish to try out the sport of Bowls, will take place between 11am and 3pm.
Selections will be made for upcoming Home Country competitions as well as classification opportunities. During the lunch break representatives from the Welsh Bowls Federation and Disability Sport Wales will be on hand to provide a general update on the development of Para Bowls, along with answering any questions and queries, the centre will be open for snacks and drinks all day.
