RADNORSHIRE Men’s Premier League side played at Merthyr last Saturday in the Club Championships.

Although they played well, the disappointment was that in the last few ends they lost in the region of 12 shots, with the overall final score meaning defeat for Radnorshire by only two shots.

The consolation was that by winning on two rinks those of David Weale and Gareth Wills and Sam Roff drawing on his, the Mid Wales visitors gained five points.

There is now a gap in the Radnorshire Men’s fixture list until February 13, when they play Port Talbot away followed by a return at home a fortnight later, these fixtures are important for the local club and gaining points from these matches should ensure they are safe from Premier League relegation at the end of the current indoor season.

Whilst on Sunday Radnorshire Men’s Team Championship squad travelled to Rhydycar and lost by 17 shots. The visitors were only successful on one rink of the three played, that of Ken Price.
