THE town of Knighton and district will be wishing ’good luck’ to their former resident Emma Woodcock, nee Moorhouse who is flying out to Australia to represent Wales in the Ladies Singles World Champion of Champions.

Emma will travel to Club Helensvale, Queensland, Australia between November 16 to 22. This will be a tremendous deserved honour for Emma, who will be accompanied by her husband Matthew and Mum and Dad, Shirley and Glenn Moorhouse, who still live in the Radnorshire town.

Emma is the current Glamorgan Ladies singles champion, and along with her bowling playing husband Matthew are the present Welsh Mixed pairs champions.

Presteigne’s Robert Weale will also travelled to foreign parts as, together with Welsh bowls partner Marc Wyatt, he will represent Wales in the Hong Kong Classic Pairs starting on Thursday November 5 and lasting until November 16.

Robert has also been selected to represent his country in the triples and fours at the Atlantic Championships at Athena Beach, Pathos, Cyprus between November 25 and December 14.
