BRECON signed off for the season with a 24-11 win at Gwernyfed - their second derby win over their fiercest rivals in as many weeks. Brecon were left to reflect on a sterling second half of the season which has seen them claim nine wins in their last 11 games and finish one place above their great Breconshire neighbours. Gwernyfed, meanwhile, endured differing fortunes, winning six and losing seven of their 13 games since the turn of the year. What will hurt even more is that this final day defeat comes a little more than two weeks after defending champions Brecon dumped the green, white and blacks out of the Mid District Bowl in a convincing 28-10 semi-final win on April 24.
