RADNOR Valley will be playing in the Spar Mid Wales League first division next season after clinching back to back promotions.
Last season’s Watson Financial Mid Wales (South) League Champions pulled off a 2-1 victory at Borth United to pip Aberystwyth University and Kerry for runners-up spot in Division Two. But Radnor left it late with Jack Price scoring in the final minute after Marcin Matyja had cancelled out Joey Price’s opener.
Earlier in the week, Radnor had to come from a goal down to triumph 5-1 at Penybont. The home side had the better of the first half with Radnor, playing their fourth game in eight days, looking a little jaded. Tom Barr put Penybont ahead but Elliot Morris levelled before half-time and Radnor stepped up a gear after the break with Joey Price, Oliver Jones, Lewis Morris and Callum Matthews all on target.
Radnor aim to complete a memorable season on Saturday when they meet Berriew in the Division 2 (ER Jenkins) League Cup Final at Llanidloes.
Builth Wells ended on a disappointing note with a very depleted aside crashing to a 6-1 defeat at Abermule on Monday when Jamie McIlroy gained their consolation. Builth had played out a 1-1 draw at home against Bont on Saturday with Tom Brown netting their equaliser.
Newbridge completed their programme with a 3-3 draw at Dyffryn Banw while Penybont have finished bottom of the table after Jack Murphy and Darren Murphy netted in a 5-2 defeat at home at the hands of Kerry.
