BRECON Corries are through to the semi-finals of the W John Owen Cup.

Captain and centre back Dale Evans scored the only goal of the game at the Rich Field to see the Corries past league rivals, and current leaders, Ynyshir Albion.

The Corries return to Highadmit Projects South Wales Alliance Premier Division league action on Saturday, March 9 when they travel to Cardiff Draconians.

The Corries have slipped to ninth in the table following league defeats to Cefn Cribwr BC, who have claimed to second in the table and are now just a point behind the Buns, and a 2-1 reverse at Baglan Dragons.

The Dracs are fourth in the table, on 39 points, two behind the leaders but having played three games more while the Corries have 30 points but also with three games in hand on the Cardiff side. Kick-off is 2.30pm.
