Brecon Corries 1 Llantwit Fadre 2
AFTER the last home disappointment two weeks ago the Corries welcomed a strong Llantwit Fadre FC in a league clash.
With a month of away fixtures in November to come, manager Damien Daniels was looking for a result. Armed with Wayne ’Scoinz’ Pritchard and Les Mellor as his assistants the game went to plan, except for the result.
For the second week running the Corries dominated every area of the game only to suffer two late goals to go down 1-2.
Oliver James opened the scoring midway through the first half after latching onto a very good cross from Nathan Collacott.
James Jeffries had arguably his best game in a Corries shirt, constantly causing some concern for the away side. With chances coming thick and fast the Corries were unable to capitalise and went into the half 1-0 up.
In the second half the Corries attitude and play as as exemplary as the condition of the playing surface. Credit must go to brothers Bob and Malcolm Davies for their enduring commitment to the Corries as we are fortunate to play on a pitch in such fine condition.
Other unsung heroes on the pitch were also making their presence felt.
Against the odds Llantwit equalised in the last 10 minutes and surly doubled their tally in the 88th minute when a clear offside/foul went unnoticed by the referee leading to a winner from close range.
All in all another extremely disappointing loss which was the only downside to a very positive and confident display.
