ON Saturday, February 16 Brecon Corries AFC hosted the 2nd Tweenies Festival of the year at the Rich Field, Brecon.
Over 150 players from all across the South Powys region flocked to a very sunny Brecon Corries AFC showing that the most junior level in grassroots football is thriving.
In total there were 18 Tweenies teams from Brecon Corries AFC, Crickhowell FC, Llangynidr FC, Builth FC, Llandrindod FC, Hay FC, Penybont FC and Sennybridge FC.
The importance of these festivals cannot be understated – they provide 5, 6 and 7 year olds with an introduction to football in a safe, supervised and fun environment.
On display on Saturday was a broad spectrum of footballing abilities, and for many of the players it was their first Tweenies festival, and every single player enjoyed every minute and left the Rich Field with a huge smile on their face.
