SHANE Claridge will again be player-manager of Spar Mid Wales League second division side, Builth Wells.

The club had advertised for a manager but Claridge will continue at the helm having guided Builth to a fifth placed finish last season.

And it will be something of a family affair on The Lant Field as Shane’s father, Kevin has taken over as Reserve team manager.

Claridge senior is no stranger to the job and is much respected in the local game having brought several youngsters through in a previous stint in charge.

Shane Claridge admits Builth will be much the same as last season with the experienced Tim Broome having joined from Newbridge while they hope the influential Lee James will return although Jamie McIlroyis going to Australia for the winter cricketing.

Meanwhile Hay St Marys Reserves have appointed Joe Emmett as player-manager of their Reserve side. He will be assisted by last season‘s manager, Tiny Harding.

Chairman, Martin Tong said: "We have a mixture of youth and experience and hope to continue the conveyor belt of young players through to the first team."
