IN-form Hay St Marys eased into the Aspidistra Radnorshire Cup Final with a 5-2 home victory over Carno on Sunday.
The Saints have now won nine on the trot in league and Cup and on Sunday virtually had their Final place booked by half-time when they led 3-0 through Jack Biggs, Brendan Hackett and matt James, Peter Rees pulled one back for Carno but a second from James and one from Rob Sneddon put Hay out of sight before Rees bagged his second for the visitors.
Hay had picked up three Spar Mid Wales league first division points 24 hours earlier when they defeated Welshpool Town 2-1 at home. Adi Lawford headed them in front, Will Thomas equalised on the stroke of half-time – his effort deflecting in off Steve Goodwin but Jack Biggs snatched a late winner.
