KNIGHTON Town Reserves are runners-up in the Watson Financial Mid Wales League (South) for the second season in a row.
Requiring a point from their final game of the season at home against Carno Reserves, The Robins collected all three with a 2-0 success. An own goal following a Billy Hyett cross gave Knighton an interval lead and Jordan Griffiths added a second when he ran onto a long ball over the top.
As it happens, the result was irrelevant as Brecon FC were beaten 2-0 at home by Llandrindod Wells Reserves. It really has been an unhappy end of season for Brecon as goals from Leroy Smith and Jason Coles, with a superb free-kick, won it for the Spa men.
Champions, Rhayader Town Reserves, who complete their league campaign at Llandrindod Reserves on Wednesday were held to a goalless draw at Presteigne Reserves.
