RHAYADER Town Reserves extended their lead at the top of the Watson Financial Mid Wales League (South) to twelve points with a 4-2 win at Builth Wells Reserves.

But Town needed late goals from Pete Horne and Paul Bishop to secure the points against a resilient Builth.

Aled Williams had given Builth an interval lead against the run of play with a rebound after Josh Price headed against the bar. Rhayader started the second half brightly and were soon ahead through Pete Horne and John Foster who netted after Paul Bishop had been denied.

Price drilled Builth level with ten minutes remaining but Horne headed his second from a cross by Bishop who chipped a fourth goal for Rhayader. Builth lost their discipline with Jordan Hammond sent off while George Wood also saw red after the final whistle.

Llandrindod Wells Reserves made it back to back wins defeating Presteigne Reserves 4-1 on The Broadway.

Stuart Williams opened the scoring but it was all square when Tom Hooper fired home a free-kick for Presteigne on the stroke of half-time. Williams regained the Spa’s lead from the penalty spot after being brought down and a double from Tom Bethel clinched the points.

Talgarth Town saw their revival continue with a 5-0 victory at St Harmon. Tom Pavey scored twice with Jordan Harvey. Alex Simmons and Ceri Jones completing the nap hand.
