THE in-form Elliot Williams grabbed an 89th winner as Llandrindod Wells dumped holders, Hay St Marys out of this season’s Aspidistra Radnorshire Cup with a 2-1 victory at Forest Road last Wednesday night.

Llandrindod now join Brecon Northcote, Builth Wells and Llanidloes Town in the last four with the semi-finals to be played in the New Year.

Llandrindod, for whom Shaun Nicholls was outstanding, were the better side in the first half and deservedly led through a cracking 25 yard strike from Robbie Nicholls.

The Saints enjoyed their best spell in the period immediately after half-time and Rob Sneddon set Brendan Hackett up for an equaliser.

But Llandrindod soon regained the upper hand and deservedly snatched a winner with Williams pouncing on a Tom James back pass to take his tally to 10 from the last four games.
