PENYBONT saw their revival continue in the Spar Mid Wales League second division with a narrow 3-2 success at home against local rivals, Newbridge.
A Tom Barr hat-trick proved decisive for the Racecourse side with Aled Williams and Kejan Froyzewski netting for Newbridge.
The other local derby between Builth wells and Radnor Valley was abandoned with referee, Steve Bradford having no other option after the heavens opened.
Presteigne did not play on Saturday but last Wednesday night gave second division leaders, Berriew one almighty fright. Spencer Napolitano had handed Presteigne a second half lead but goals in the last five minutes from Steffan Rogers and Karl Seliaerts gave Berriew the spoils in a 2-1 win.
