HAY St Mary’s Ladies defeated league newcomers Tupsley 6-3 at Central Park in Hereford to open their Herefordshire FA Women’s Development League campaign on a winning note.

Summer signing Jade Perry led the way with four goals for the Forest Road club and she was joined on the score sheet by sisters Gemma Bradford and Lauren Bradford.

This match was a tight encounter until the Saints pulled away with three goals in the last 15 minutes of the match. Hay St Mary’s are due to face the Hereford club again in the opening round of the Herefordshire FA Women’s County Challenge Cup and could potentially face Hereford FC’s recently-formed women’s team if they can overcome Tupsley again.
