Substitute, Alex Simmonds made an immediate impact as he went through one on one to net a third for Talgarth who had to endure a few nervy late moments after Joel Evans hit a second for Northcote.
Builth Wells produced one of their best performances of the season to beat Llanidloes Town reserves 2-1 on The Lant Field with Dave Thomas grabbing a late winner from the penalty spot.
Adam Davies had earlier put Builth ahead only for Will Denham to level for The Daffs but Thomas got the decisive score after Paul Worthington was adjudged to have been brought down.
Steve Hughes got off the substitutes bench as St Harmon notched their biggest win of the term beating Presteigne Reserves 4-0 at The Bryn where recent signing, Hefin Rowlands saw the hosts one up at half-time.
Tom Hooper equalised direct from a corner but Hughes netted twice sandwiching a further effort from Hywel Watson as The Swifts moved up five places to the heady heights of fifth in the table.
With Rhayader Town Reserves without a fixture, both Brecon FC and Knighton Town Reserves took advantage to close the gap on the leaders. Brecon, who head to Forden United in the Emrys Morgan Cup on Saturday, notched a seventh straight league win triumphing 4-1 over the border in Newcastle.
Kyle O’Shea, Ben Moses, Louis Pritchard and new signing, Luke Roughley shared the goals with Carl Price netting for the Shropshire side.
