TALGARTH Town maintained their three point lead at the top of the Watson Financial Mid Wales league (South) after a 3-1 home success over previously unbeaten Presteigne Reserves.

Gareth Bull had fired Presteigne into a first half lead from 25 yards but Talgarth hit back after the break. Matthew Lloyd scrambled an equaliser before Harry Sharman put them ahead. And Kyle O’Shea sealed the win with his customary goal after being set up by Jordan Harvey.

Brecon Northcote are second after two first half goals from Rory Myles secured a 2-1 win at defending League Champions, Rhayader Town Reserves whose defeat was their second in a row.

Llanidloes Town Reserves out themselves into the mix with a 2-0 win at Builth Wells Reserves where Dylan Howells and Conrad Galloway were on target in the first half.

Llandrindod Wells Reserves were 1-0 winners at Newcastle with Jeff Jones popping up with a late goal to settle the game while Knighton Town Reserves pulled off a welcome 3-0 victory over St Harmon who were hampered by an early injury to Nick Leakey.

Jordan Griffiths and Billy Hyett saw Knighton two up a half-time and Ieuan Webb bagged a third in the second half.

Penybont dragged themselves off the bottom with a 3-1 home win against Hay St Marys Reserves. Penybont started well and deservedly led with strikes from Sam De Groot and Dan Paosila-Jones.

Hay had their best spell leading up to half-time when Kyle Harding reduced the deficit with a deflected cross cum shot. The second half never really got going and Penybont sealed only their second win when Lewis Pugh added a late third goal.
