TALGARTH Town marched on at the top of the Watson Financial Mid Wales League (South) with a 6-0 romp over St Harmon.
Goals by Harry and Ben Sharman put Chris Voyle’s side in the driving seat and Kyle O’Shea rounded off a good move to extend the lead by half-time. Harry Sharman bagged a second after the break and Ceri Jones nipped in for a fifth before Alex Simmons completed the scoreline for Talgarth who are now six points clear at the top.
Brecon Northcote are second despite dropping points in what was a hard fought 2-2 draw at Presteigne Reserves. Joel Evans and Fraser McAnally netted the Northcote goals.
Builth Wells Reserves are among the leading pack after a narrow 1-0 success over visiting Newcastle. The only goal came in the last five minutes with Tom Brown emerging Builth’s match winner as he was put through by Scott Davies to snatch all three points.
Llanidloes Town Reserves head Builth on goal difference after a 3-1 home win against Penybont Reserves whose league position does not reflect the football they play.
David Jarman and Adrian Foulkes saw Llanidloes two up at half-time and Gavin Cross secured the spoils after Daniel Paosila-Jones had reduced the deficit for Penybont.
Hay St Marys Reserves turned in a disappointing performance and paid the price as Knighton Town Reserves left Forest Road with a 2-1 victory under their belts. Hay were slow starters and Jordan Griffiths and Billy Hyett put Knighton two up before Jamie Howard raised Saints’ hopes.
