Newbridge-on-Wye sprinter Morgan Jones finished fourth in his T47 100 metre final at the Commonwealth Games.
The 23-year-old former Builth Wells High School pupil ran 11.93 seconds in the final as Nigerian Suwaibidu Galadima stormed to gold in 11.04 seconds but appeared to pull a leg muscle as he crossed the finish line and collapsed to the track.
England’s James Arnott, a T46 classification runner, took silver in 11.30 and Jamaica’s Tevaughn Thomas the bronze in 11.63.
The final was run at the packed 40,000 capacity Carrara Stadium shortly before England’s Katarina Johnson-Thompson sealed her gold medal in the final event of the heptathlon.
