A BRECON teenager is hoping to have a hand in her country's success when the UEFA European Women's Under 19 Championships kicks off in Wales next week.
Goalkeeper Alice Evans will be hoping to provide a safe pair of hands between the sticks as hosts http://www.faw.org.uk/news/FAW91807.ink"">http://www.faw.org.uk/news/FAW91807.ink" target="_blank">Wales begin their campaign against Denmark on Monday, August 19.
Cardiff City Ladies FC player Alice and her fellow dragons will be all the more fired up as the http://www.uefa.com/womensunder19/index.html"">http://www.uefa.com/womensunder19/index.html" target="_blank">championship is taking place on home soil, played between August 19 and 31.
Alice has the added honour of being a young ambassador during the tournament.
Alice has been living in Cardiff for three years but now lives back at home in Brecon with her parents, while she is a former pupil at Builth Wells High School.
Alice hit the headlines in October 2012 when her penalty shoot-out save in a friendly against England helped Wales secure a famous 5-4 win over the old enemy.
