LOCAL golfers are being urged to dig out their clubs in support of a local football club.

Presteigne St Andrews FC is to hold a Golf Day at Kington Golf Club on Friday, April 29 with the proceeds of the day going towards the Llanandras Park club.

Organiser Tom Ammnods says there should be something for everyone: "We are looking for teams of four and it will be played under the Stableford system. There can be any combination of men and women in the teams and the entry fee will be £140 per team. This will include coffee and bacon sandwiches on arrival, 18 holes of golf then a dinner in the evening."

There will be prizes for the longest drive of the day for men and ladies, as well as a ’nearest the pin’ prize. In addition to this, there will also be prizes for the first three teams in the overall competition. The only real stipulation is that the maximum handicap off which competitors can play is 28 for men and 36 for ladies.

Tee-off times on the day will be from 10am and anyone who is interested is asked to contact Tom on 07799 268007 or Haydn Williams on 07905 285656 while details are also available on the Presteigne St Andrews FC website at: www.presteignestandrewsfc.co.uk
