THERE was a good turnout for the ladies competition last Thursday with 31 Ladies playing.

Glenys Williams has been in some fine form of late and clinched a win by two shots. Although the sun shone it didn’t make much of a dent into the cold wind which dropped the temperature and also made for tricky conditions to play. Results:- First: Glenys Williams - 35 pts; Second: Mags Jones - 33 pts - on back nine; Third: Judith Davies - 33 pts.

The men’s Farmer’s Bowl took place on May 1.

Past Captain rolls back the years and his handicap with this stunning round. Terry Eckley hits a low running shot off the tee and is always straight, he never misses a fairway and also has a deadly short game, so it comes as no surprise that when conditions are tough he can keep it below the swirling wind and rely on his ability around the greens.

Only three people managed to break par on the day and this proves that medal is the toughest format in the game as every shot counts, meaning the CSS went up to 73 and bigger reductions for those under par.

Results:- First: Terry Eckley (h’cap 19) Nett 68; Second: Mark Alder (h’cap 13) Nett 69; Third: Simon Wharton (h’cap 11) Nett 70; Fourth: Ben Keheller (h’cap 6) Nett 73. There were 9 x 2’s each receiving four balls each.
