SUNDAY, October 25 saw the first Turkey Trot Stablefords competition take place at Cradoc Gold Club.

The prizes for these competitions are given out on the Christmas Draw night - Wednesday December 16.

A great autumn so far has meant the course is still in great shape and with the weather being fine all day some great scores were expected and the golfers weren’t disappointed.

Results:- First: Tuljung Gurung (h’cap 21) - 42 points; Second: Huw Rodwell (h’cap 17) - 41 points; Third: Lyn Pritchard (h’cap 24) - 40 points; Fourth: Simon Wharton (h’cap 12) - 40 points; Fifth: Rob Goodwin (h’cap 12) - 39 points.

There were 7 x 2’s each getting seven Nike RZN balls.

On Sunday November 8 the second Turkey Trott competition took place. The golfers who played in the morning must have counted their blessings as they played the majority of their round in the dry, the same could not be said for the guys playing in the afternoon.

The wind grew in strength and the rain became more intense so much so that some of them decided to leave the course early and sit by the roaring log burner in the 19 hole.

Gareth Reid must have thought he would have a strong chance after a good round in the morning but Alex Moysen braved the elements and produced a very good round in the worst of the weather.

Results:- First: Alex Moysen - h’cap 18/16 - 36 points; Second: Gareth Reid - h’cap 17/15 - 35 points; Third: John Morris - h’cap 13/11 - 33 points; Fourth: Dai Lewis - h’cap 10/9 - 32 points.

There were 10 x 2’s each getting three Nike Black balls each.

Next week is winter League with timings 8.30 for 8.45 draw in the morning and 12.30 for 12.45 draw in the afternoon.
