THE hockey season has ended with three Mid Wales teams celebrating promotion.

Kington, Presteigne and Gwernyfed all went up while Radnor and Brecon staved off the threat of relegation.

Having secured their Premiership status, Radnor ended their season on a disappointing note as they were hammered 9-0 at leaders Newport Gwent 1sts.

Radnor will be joined in Premiership 2 next season by neighbours Kington who pipped long time rivals Sue Noake to the second promotion slot in Division 1 behind league winners Dowlais.

Presteigne have long since secured promotion to Division 1 but can win the Division 2 title if they beat Brecon in their final game.

Brecon, meanwhile, will be joined in Division 2 next season by Gwernyfed, who claimed the second promotion spot in Division 3 thanks to a better goal difference than Swansea University 2nds.
