THE latest event in Rhayader Motorcycle Club’s hectic schedule took the form of a moto duro on Saturday evening where competitors rode for an hour and half split into two legs over nearly three miles.
With rain seemingly all over Wales, the event was blessed with dry almost perfect conditions and it was two local riders who set the pace with Adam James leading both legs from the flag to record his first victory of the year, fellow club member Marc Evans finished second in both legs but had to fight through the field in the second leg after getting of the start last, third place went to Tim Foreman.
In the clubman class Kairon Watkins also completed a double win ahead of Callum Evans each time while in the Over 40 class Ryan Leary won the first leg from Jason Rees, for leg two the places were reversed by Ryan won overall with a margainly better overall time.
Martin P Jones won the first outing for the Over 50’s class but failed to finish the second leg giving the win to David Lewis while Jac George won the sportsman class by a full lap each time.
British Championship Sidecar contenders David Williams/Simon Brown and Jonathan Williams/ Neil James renewed their rivalry in the sidecar class with David just ahead at the flag on both occasions.
