JOSIE Pearson has added a second world championship medal to her collection, a bronze in the club throw.

The Hay-on-Wye athlete threw a personal best at the IPC World Championships in Lyon on Wednesday, July 24, adding to the gold medal she won in the discus.

Maroua Ibrahmi of Tunisia won the gold medal in the F31/32/51 club throw and Canada's Becky Richter the silver.

Paralympic discus gold medalist Josie won her first IPC World Championship throwing 7.09 metres world record to claim the F51/52/53 title.

The 27-year-old improved her previous discus world record of 6.58 metres set when she won gold at the London 2012 games.

Following her bronze medal, Josie posted on her Twitter account: "Wow so it's just sunk in that I'm now also World Champ in discus and broke another 3 WR's and had a huge PB in club and got bronze! #Success."

Josie will return to the scene of her Paralympic triumph, the London Olympic Stadium, for the Anniversary Games.
