THE new sailing season at Llangorse Sailing Club starts off with new facilities to improve launching and recovery of members’ and visitors’ sailing boats.
The club can’t wait to take full advantage of these launching improvements.
So if you ever wanted to learn to sail, or just reconnect with the water from a dinghy, canoe or small launch, then why not at this fortuitous time take a look at Llangorse Sailing Club?
As locals know, the lake is the largest open water in South Wales, surrounded by rolling hills, farmland and the iconic Brecon Beacons.
Llangorse Sailing Club is always very keen to encourage new members, both active sailors and social.
As a sailing club, one could be a bit daunted by appearances.
Don’t be, Llangorse members are friendly, local folk and encouraging, whatever your water-based ambitions.
If you would love to mess around in boats or just soak up the local atmosphere of this idyllic lake, and are new to sailing, we teach sailing and safe power boat use.
The funding for the new enhanced facilities generously came from the Powys Community Regeneration & Development Fund, and from The Brecon Beacon National Park Authority’s Sustainable Development Fund. The work was carried out by John Jones, Civil Engineering & Groundworks Limited of Erwood.
Sport Wales, Powys Council and the National Park Authority supported the brand new clubhouse.
It boasts a sun-trap balcony to take in the view from and watch the sailing, or wildlife; and a state of the art galley, a cosy corner sofa for kicking back in; toys and crafts for children ashore; free Wi-Fi access and a fully equipped training room for RYA courses and junior coaching sessions.
Our great value £150 annual family membership gives you full advantage to enjoy all of this at your leisure.
