GWERNYFED fought valiantly before eventually going down to an 11 point loss against high flying Newport High School Old Boys.

In a thoroughly absorbing game, the visitors just about had the edge by virtue of a performance with few errors, whereas the hosts mixed maximum effort with uncharacteristic flaws at critical points in the game.
