THE College warmed up for their Elite U18 Colleges clash with Cowbridge CS with this comfortable win over weak and rudderless visitors writes Huw S Thomas

The writing on the wall for the visitors came early on when scholarship new recruit and scrum half Aron Hemmings from Bro Dinefwr tapped and raced in under the posts, fly half Ewan Starling converting.

In the space of three minutes the College knocked the stuffing right out of the Pembs side with tries by galloping prop Carwyn Harries from a powerful driving line-out, lock Morgan Williams from slick inter-passing between backs and forwards and ever dangerous full back Tomi Lewis.

Pembs defended with spirit and some luck until the last quarter but then replacement No 8 Rhodri Bullock scored after a scything break from Tomi Lewis.

Again from the kick off the Lilywhites were confident enough to drive the length of the pitch with close inter passing for back row Ianto Jones to score.

The ever alert Ty Jones then scored a classic winger’s try with a clinical finish after very sharp passing by the backs before the influential and outstanding Starling completed the day’s scoring with a clever show and go.

"It is very early days" said Director of Rugby Iestyn Thomas, "but there is enough promise to think we will be competitive in the Elite league."

"Despite the loss of our star player Harry Randell to Hartpury College, we are hopeful that there is enough talent to make a challenge for honours."
