ABBEY-Cwm-Hir flanker Dan Lydiate will captain Wales on Saturday when they face Italy in the final game of this years Six Nations.
In the absence of Sam Warburton, who was stretchered off the field in last weekend’s defeat to england at Twickenham and is said to be suffering from concussion, Lydiate will take the lead.
The 28-year-old previously captained Wales in a midweek match against EP Kings during the summer tour of South Africa in 2014, having led the 2013 British and Irish Lions to a 35-0 win over Melbourne Rebels.
Wales coach, Warren Gatland said: "I’ve been involved in a couple of times when Dan (Lydiate) has captained the midweek sides and he jumped at the opportunity this weekend and it will be good to see how he goes."
