Crickhowell RFC 61 Cwmcarn RFC 12
IN their first home game of the season the newly re-built Crickhowell RFC had a successful afternoon against Cwmcarn RFC.
A try in the first two minutes set the tone following a full team effort to get the ball out wide, with Rhodri Boggust running in from the 22 yard line.
A game of running rugby ensued with both teams keen to cross the line. Some stern defending by Crickhowell on their own try line paid dividends when the team re-gained the ball with a infamous Tom Canning turnover resulting in a try at the opposite end, scored by Canning.
Cwmcarn managed to muster the effort for a try, following a big push over the Crickhowell line before half time however Crickhowell continued to out play Cwmcarn, with a plethora of tries scored by Kieron Llewelyn, Ryan James, Ryan Beehan, Richie Roberts, Ken Birch Darren Dunston and man of the match Danny Davies.
A second half substitute Harry Summers also scored his first try in his first game as a senior member of Crickhowell RFC.
Crickhowell play their next home game at 2pm on Saturday September 17 against local rivals Beaufort RFC in an eagerly awaited cup derby.
