WITH the visitors head and shoulders above anyone else in this League, Llandrindod always knew that this would not be the easiest encounter for them, especially with a couple of their key players still away on holiday.
However, to their great credit, they stuck to their guns and gave Taffs Well a more difficult time than perhaps they expected, especially up front in the first half. It was the visitor’s back division however, who were the deciding factor in this game running in seven tries despite the ground conditions, and on a couple of occasions in the second half running out of deep defence following Llandrindod attacks on their line.
Llandrindod had their moments in the backs as well with centre Bon Williams using his speed and power to cause Taffs Well problems throughout the match, though he was never quite able to break through the Taffs Well cover.
