RHAYADER Town against high flying Llandrindod Wells will be the glamour tie in the quarter finals of the Radnorshire Cup at the end of the month.

The Red Kites squeezed through after a narrow 1-0 win against Knighton Town on Sunday, while the Spamen were granted a berth in the last eight after Radnor Valley conceded their tie.

Midfielder Lance Jones got the all important goal in the first quarter of an hour at the Weirglodd and that proved sufficient to send Knighton to their first defeat of the season.

Talgarth Town are also through after Penybont also disappointingly conceded. Rhosgoch swept to the biggest win of the first round with Joe Price netting four times in a 7-1 romp over Builth Wells.

Rhos will now meet Bronllys who also had a four goal hero in Lewys Thomas as they defeated St Harmon 4-1 at home.

Sennybridge are through after two goals from Nathan Collacott earned a 2-1 win against Newbridge at the Riverside.

Presteigne booked their quarter final ticket last Tuesday night, defeating Llanidloes Town 5-1 at Llanandras Park.
