THIS popular road race held in Mid Wales, is now entering its second decade.

Started on a very wet day in 2007 with 106 runners taking part the run has seen the numbers doubling to over 200.

The run takes in the beautiful scenery and undulating lanes of the Elan Valley and it has generally experienced pleasant autumnal weather.

Excellent times have been achieved for the race and the current course record of 54.55, is held by P Matthews.

The race is on the recognised list of Welsh Athletics and also forms part of the East Wales Championship and East Wales Road Club Championship. Runners take part from all over Wales and it also attracts runners from the West Midlands and the North West of England.

Organised by Rhayader Running Club but the support and help of the Elan Valley Trust and the local community, ensure a well organised and successful race that everyone can enjoy.
