A 100-year-old Probus Club member has been made an Honorary Life member at a special ceremony recently.

Ken Lush received the award from Llandrindod Wells Probus Club Chairman, Professor Geoffrey Lloyd at the Metropole Hotel last week.

Ken recently celebrated his 100th birthday and received his congratulations from the king.

Ken is originally from Castle Cary in Somerset, where his family were farmers and owned a butchers shop. He attended private school and later became a pilot in the Fleet Air Arm, flying the Fairey Swordfish torpedo bomber from aircraft carriers.

He served on operational tours throughout the world and met his wife Diana when he was serving in Northern Ireland, when she was in the Royal Navy. He retired with the rank of Lieutenant.

Ken is one of the longest serving members of Probus and the Club wishes him many more years of health and happiness.
