Dyfed-Powys Police is appealing for witnesses following a fatal collision on the A483 at Pool Quay, near Welshpool, on Saturday evening (October 11).

The crash, which occurred at around 6.50pm, involved a purple Volkswagen and a white Mini.

The driver of the Mini died at the scene. Their next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers.

A passenger in the Volkswagen was airlifted to hospital with injuries described as life-threatening. The driver and another passenger were also taken to hospital, where their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

An 18-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

Police are urging anyone who witnessed the collision, or who may have dashcam footage from the area at the time, to come forward.
