Police in Knighton are warning residents that riding privately owned electric scooters on public roads, pavements or in parks is against the law.

Dyfed-Powys Police’s Neighbourhood Policing and Prevention Team said they had received a number of calls from concerned members of the public about the use of e-scooters in the town.

Officers are reminding people that e-scooters can only be used on private land, and only with the landowner’s permission. Anyone caught riding them in public risks having their scooter seized and could face a fine.

Police also warned that parents could be prosecuted if their child is found breaking the law.
