Dyfed-Powys Police have moved to reassure the public after concerns circulated about an alleged threatening message to Brecon High School, said to have been seen online.

The force confirmed on Thursday that, following enquiries, no video describing threats to the school has been found circulating on social media.

In a statement shared on the Brecon, Crickhowell and Hay-on-Wye Police Facebook page, officers said: "We are aware of concerns in the community about a threatening message to Brecon High School that was allegedly seen on social media. We can confirm that, following social media and other enquiries being conducted, there is no confirmed video found online or being circulated describing any threats to Brecon High School at this time."

To provide reassurance, officers from the local Neighbourhood Policing and Prevention Team (NPPT) have been carrying out visible patrols at the school since the initial report.

Police also confirmed they remain in contact with Brecon High School and that NPPT colleagues will continue to maintain a presence on site.

Enquiries into the matter are ongoing.
