Police have named a 58-year-old woman who died in a two car crash on the A40 between Brecon and Sennybridge.
Dyfed-Powys Police said Diana, known as Diane, Price from the Brecon area died in the collision on Friday morning, December 9.A 21-year-old woman was taken to hospital following the incident which occured near Llanspyddid.
Dyfed-Powys Police said the "serious" road traffic collision involved two cars, a black Mini and a green Rover 25, and was reported at around 7.35am.The road was closed until Friday afternoon.
Police are appealing for any witnesses, but in particular a white van travelling from the Brecon direction towards Sennybridge at around this time, to contact them as a matter of urgency.A spokesman for the Welsh Ambulance Service said: "We were called shortly before 7.35am to reports of a two-vehicle road traffic collision on the A40 near Sennybridge."We sent two emergency ambulances to the scene and a young woman was taken to Nevill Hall Hospital."Police can be contacted on 101.
