A DRIVER who has died following a car crash on the Brecon Beacons was due to become a dad.
Brad Webster, who lived in Sennybridge, died yesterday at the University Hospital of Wales, in Cardiff, after his car hit a tree on the A40, near the village nine days ago.
The 23-year-old, who had only moved to Sennybridge, from Clydach in the Swansea Valley, 12 months ago after securing a job at the Army camp died at 2.15pm on Tuesday, January 14.
His family revealed he was shortly to become a father, with the child due in two months time.
A statement issued by the family said: "Brad was a much loved son, grandson, brother and fiancé. He was overjoyed at the prospect of becoming a father to 'baby boy bump' in two months time.
"His love of football since the age of six led him to play for Sunnybank AFC, Afan Nedd School Boys, Morriston Athletic and Sennybridge AFC. Whilst playing senior football he also coached Sunnybank Juniors and Sennybridge Juniors.
"As well as his passion for football he played rugby for the Vadre RFC Juniors and cricket for the Clydach Cricket Club Juniors.
"Brad had a large circle of friends in Sennybridge and the Swansea area. He had an infectious personality and touched the hearts of everybody he met.
"We are devastated that he is no longer with us and our lives will never be the same again.
"We would now like to come to terms with our loss and ask that our privacy be respected at this time."
Dyfed Powys Police continue to investigate the circumstances of the crash, which happened at about 5.40pm on Monday, January 6 in which Mr Webster's black Honda Civic type R car, which was travelling from Brecon towards Sennybridge, was the only vehicle involved.
