A Wales-wide roadshow aimed at ensuring young people are work-ready is coming to The Green in Llandrindod Wells on Friday September 30 between 10am and 2pm.

Young people, aged between 16-24 and their parents, are invited to come along to chat through different work and career options.

Organised by Careers Wales, the Are You Ready for Work? Roadshow will act as a one-stop advice shop for young people making decisions on their future careers.

Running throughout September at 15 locations across Wales, including Bethel Square in Brecon on Friday, October 7, the roadshow will provide young people with expert advice from careers advisors, employers, training providers, colleges and local organisations.

They will have access to live job and apprenticeship vacancies and an opportunity to sample different workplace scenarios through hands-on activities.

They’ll also receive up-to-date job market information, including that between 2012 and 2022, Wales will need 23,000 more health and social work staff, 10,000 construction workers, 8,000 finance and insurance professionals and 8,000 support services staff.

They will also get tips on how to succeed at interviews, what makes a good CV, what skills employers are looking for and how to use the interactive tools on www.careerswales.com and much more.

Joan Murray, team manager, from Careers Wales said: “We are really looking forward to welcoming you to the Are You Ready for Work? Roadshow in Llandrindod Wells.
