ART student Lucy Fuest found herself the centre of attention after a window display she created was featured on a television programme.
The display, inspired by famous children’s author Roald Dahl’s book the BFG, caught the eye of producers from the Made in Cardiff TV station - based in the late writer’s home city.
Lucy, from Llansantffraed, near Talybont-On-Usk, was then asked to appear on the local television station to discuss her display.
The 22-year-old, who has been studying illustration in Hereford College of Arts and is now waiting for her final results, said: "It was quite scary being interviewed for television.
"It happened really quickly. My tutor phoned me early in the morning and said they had been in touch and would like me to get to Hay-On-Wye that day to be interviewed."
The budding artist said the display had helped her make connections with other artists.
She said: "The display was co-ordinated to run alongside The Hay Festival, which this year included special events celebrating the centenary year of Roald Dahl’s birth. Dahl was my main inspiration for this project and in particular his enchanting story of the BFG."
Lucy said: "In the future I’m hoping to do more commissions and make personalised art for people. I also hope to sell more work online and hopefully do more window displays."
While studying for her degree Lucy has been doing as much work experience as possible. She has completed some work experience doing theatre set design with a company called Scenic Projects but is still unsure what she wants to do as a career.
Her style of art is mixed media illustrations and this is what she has specialised in at college.
