A bagpiper marched through Talgarth on Thursday to mark the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
Accompanied by glorious sunshine, the bagpiper was followed by avid listeners and greeted by residents waiting for his approach.
From the 1st Batallion of the Royal Irish Regiment, he started his parade, which lasted around two hours, at 4pm.
Staring at Brynderwen Avenue, he marched through Woodlands Avenue before heading onto Talgarth Town Square, Talgarth War Memorial, and Glanenig Residential Home before finishing at the Castle Hotel at 6pm.
It was one of many events to be held throughout the small Breconshire town and its surrounding community over the next four days.
Residents from Talgarth and the surrounding area have been enjoying the jubilee weekend with a variety of different events to celebrate the Queen’s 70 years on the throne.

Reflecting on the opening event of Talgarth's Platinum Jubilee celebrations, County Councillor William Powell said: “I'm very pleased to have taken part in today's Piper Parade.

“We are all so grateful to Kris, our superb Platinum Jubilee Irish Piper, who made such a sterling effort to include everyone in the celebration.
“Thanks to everyone who contributed to today's spectacular event, from Brynderwen Green, Woodlands Avenue, Coed-y-Bryn, Queens Avenue & Hay Road, on our route to The Square.
“Special thanks to the whole team at The Castle Hotel, Talgarth whose generous sponsorship made it all possible.
“Also to my friend and colleague, Cllr Louise Elston-Reeves, who brought the idea of the Piper Parade to the Talgarth & District Regeneration Group, culminating in this unforgettable event. God Save the Queen!”
Gwernyfed RFC held a celebration all day on Thursday, including live music and a hog roast until late.
There was a jubilee quiz at the Castle Inn in Pengenffordd yesterday and a celebratory walk around the area.
Today there was a Famly Fun Day from 2pm at the St George Playing Fields and tomorrow [Sunday] there is a service of celebration at St Gwendoline’s and a Picnic Get Together at the Square from 2.30pm.
