THE generosity of walkers and locals 'spending a penny' at community run public toilets has funded two new latrines for a community in Africa.
When volunteers took over the running of the Ty Bach loos in Llanfrynach from Powys County Council in 2008, the group asked users o spare a little change to help keep the facility running.
And generous donations by people using the toilets have now allowed the community group to purchase two new loos, at a cost of £60 each, in the Rutana Province of Burundi in Africa.
