Officials are now having to re-work a crucial planning document, the Local Development Plan (LDP) to identify suitable sites for the additional housing.

Independent planning inspector Rebecca Phillips has warned unless the LDP can identify land for 200 homes, on top of its target of 1,196 new dwellings by 2022, she could find the plan is 'unsound'.
