THE line up for this year's Brecon Jazz festival has this week been announced.

Six times Grammy award winner Dr John, whose tribute album to jazz great Louis Armstrong shot to the top of the Billboard jazz charts, is one of the headliners at this year's Brecon Jazz Festival.

The August 8-9 festival line up is one of the most international in the event's 31 year history with big name American headliners, exclusive performances, intriguing crossovers and global artists from Scandinavia through Romania, Brittany and Catalonia to Brazil that reflect jazz music's global reach all featuring prominently in the summer event in Brecon.

Brecon's Elim Church will add a further venue along with the usual Market Hall, Brecon Cathedral and Theatr Brycheiniog.
